In order to pay for hosting this site I am required to generate at least a little money. Rather than charge you for the services and content I provide I choose to use several affiliate programs.
If you’ve never heard of affiliate marketing it is essentially commission based advertising. For example, I can link to a product on a retailers website and if you click through and purchase that product, I receive a small percentage of the sale as a commission.
This is the way most blogs and small websites such as this pay the costs of maintaining a website and possibly extra for themselves if they are good.
On my site, you may see a small number of banner ads or I may reference specific products available for purchase. At no point will I ever promote a product directly that I don’t personally believe in, but if an affiliate program is available for a product I am referencing in an article I will try to sign up for the appropriate affiliate program.
This does not constitute a direct partnership between myself and the retailer. Any business transactions you make with a retailer I link to through an affiliate program is strictly between you and them.
This is a win-win-win situation. You get free advice and information from me, the retailer receives a sale, and I receive a small commission to help keep this going.
I promise and commit to you that I will never turn this site into a spam filled and popup ridden advertising behemoth and I will be open and transparent about the affiliate programs I am enrolled in. Below are legal disclaimers for each of these programs.
We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
